Dr. Fox:
Professor of Education at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho
Dr. Evin Fox has been married to her husband, Jeff, for 36 years. They have two boys: Tim (31) and Robby (28). Evin and her husband traveled extensively before they settled down to have children, mortgages, cars, etc.  They lived and taught English in Japan on two separate occasions before moving to Twin Falls, Idaho in 1987 where Evin taught in the public schools for 15 years.  In 2005 Evin began teaching in the Teacher Education Program at CSI and now  teaches courses in Child Development, Education and a new course called “Happy Humans.”  Evin holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University Sacramento, and holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, an Ed Specialist  and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, all from Idaho State University.  Evin is passionate about educating our learners at all levels and will champion those who don’t have a voice.

Wendy Wong:
Director of Education, Salvation Army
Wendy Wong is a graduate of Boise State University  and has lived in Boise for 35 years. She has worked for The Salvation Army Boise (TSA) for over 5 years in many roles, including Director of Social Services and currently as the Client and Community  Education Director.  She is a licensed trainer for “Bridges Out of Poverty” and a facilitator of its curriculum, “Getting Ahead In a Just Getting’  By World”. She facilitates groups and life skills classes to TSA clients including those living in their transitional housing program for homeless  individuals. Prior to The Salvation Army Wendy  worked for 16 years in Real Estate and Property  Management with a large portfolio in the low- income multi-family sector throughout the  North-Western United States. She is a proud wife of a Boise Fire Captain and a mother to two  elementary aged children, Gabrielle and Max.

Nora Carpenter:
CEO and President, United Way of Treasure Valley
Nora Carpenter was born in Caldwell and is a  graduate of the University of Idaho. In 1993, Ms. Carpenter took the helm of the Better Business Bureau of Southwest Idaho which showed dramatic improvement over her tenure. Her success led to her 2007 promotion to Senior Vice President of the National Council of Better Business Bureaus, where she provided leadership to 135 Better Business  Bureaus and also served as a consumer advocate to the Federal Trade Commission and US Department of the Treasury. Later Ms. Carpenter became the President and Executive Director of Big Brothers  Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho. At the end of 2012 she joined the United Way of Treasure Valley as President and CEO.

Suzanne Peck:
Idaho State Department of Education
Suzanne M Peck has dedicated her life to “Saving the world, one reader at a time” after spending a summer working in the St. Anthony Juvenile  Corrections facility and realizing that most of this population struggled to be able to read.  She has worked with At-risk populations & programs ever since in numerous capacities at the school, district, and now the state level as the Idaho State  Coordinator for Title IX-A Homeless Education  and Title ID Neglected, Delinquent, & At-Risk  programs. She realizes how difficult it is to teach  a child when they are hungry or tired.  She has supported hundreds of parents to acquire books  in their homes, food for their families, and  training to help support their child’s education.  She has taught thousands of children to read  and improve their future.

Tamra Vanegas:
Boise School District’s counseling and social  work supervisor
Tamra heads a team of counselors and social workers meeting the needs of a growing number of homeless students.  She also leads the team to better prepare teachers and staff in the district to respond to the needs of ALL students, including those who have experienced trauma, crisis and loss. Tamra has served Idaho’s students since 2004 as teacher, school counselor, transition counselor and counseling  and social work supervisor. Tamra earned her  Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Minor in Development from the University of Idaho and her Master’s Degree in Counseling, Master’s Certificate in Substance Abuse from Boise State University and is trained as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She is a licensed counselor and counselor supervisor with the State of Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses.

Amy Rust:
LCSW, Frank Church High School, Boise Schools
Amy has a BA in Sociology from Indiana University  and a Masters in Social Work from Boise State.  Amy began her career as a Teach for America  teacher in the San Francisco Bay area. It was that experience which drew her into school social work.  Amy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in the Boise public schools. She has worked with Boise School District for 10 years. During this period, she has worked with families and students in elementary, junior high and high schools. Currently, she is the social worker at Frank Church High School and the BASE Program. Both are alternative programs for at-risk adolescents  in the Boise School District. She has been a group  facilitator for the parent drug education classes  for seven years.

Carolyn Casey:
Moderator
IWCF member Carolyn Casey travels the country consulting, speaking and leading training  workshops. Her 20 year experience as a Fortune 500 executive gives her insight into the local  company she leads, aha!facilitating, which offers the Women’s aha!Camp, a grown-up camp  experience where women entertain new ideas,  practice extreme self-care and enjoy endless  laughter—a powerful combination. In her newest venture, Carolyn and her team at aha!facilitating are helping leaders unleash the talents of their  existing “Highly Wired” employees to create  competitive advantage. Highly Wired is a newly  discovered genetic trait present in 20% of the  global population. Carolyn serves on the IWCF  Education Committee.

Erik Kingston, PCED:
Housing Resources Coordinator, Idaho Housing  and Finance Association (IHFA)
Shortly after joining IHFA in 1995, Erik created the Housing Hotline and Housing Information Referral Center, where he coordinates statewide program, policy, and planning efforts while pursuing  unconventional partnerships. He serves on the  Idaho Rural Partnership (IRP) board and has worked in many rural towns with IRP’s Community Review Team. Erik is a regular presenter for the American Planning Association/Idaho Chapter, Association  of Idaho Cities, and the NW Community  Development Institute, where he teaches a  course entitled Housing as a Second Language.  He manages several web projects, including  housingidaho.com and fairhousingforum.org and partners with diverse local, state and regional planning initiatives. Erik is a member of the newly formed Western Community Assessment Network (WeCAN), a collaborative among community and economic developers in Idaho, Montana and  Wyoming funded through a USDA AFRI grant.  Together, the WeCAN team recently launched  communityreview.org, a resource for rural  western communities.

Josh Scholer:
Policy Specialist, Idaho Asset Building Network
Josh is a third-generation Idahoan, born and raised in Boise.  At Boise State, Josh spent two years interning at the Idaho Legislature while also working with at-risk youth through the City of Boise for nearly four years.  His senior year, Josh was selected to be the Government Relations Officer for the student body, working often with university officials to advance sound investments for Idaho higher education and also to change the state’s funding formula.  Halfway through the year, Josh was selected to represent Idaho students on Governor Otter’s Higher Education Task Force.  Now, Josh works as a Policy Specialist at Jannus where he works on policy issues related to housing affordability and also behavioral/mental health.

Wyatt Schroeder:
Executive Director, CATCH
Wyatt Schroeder serves as the Executive Director for CATCH, Inc. He is responsible for the strategic management, fund development, storytelling,  and program success of the organization. A native of Pennsylvania, Wyatt holds an M.B.A. from  Villanova University (Philadelphia, PA) and a B.A. from Allegheny College (Meadville, PA). While  serving in AmeriCorps with Rebuilding Together, Wyatt found the passion of his life: ending  homelessness. Since then he has worked with  Doorways for Women and Families, a re-housing  and domestic violence shelter organization in  Arlington, VA and Project HOME, a housing and  services agency in Philadelphia, PA. In 2012,  he founded StoryBank Consulting to help social  entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and collective impact initiatives design innovative strategies to meet their mission and tell their story. Through his consulting, he has aided organizations such as Pathways to Housing PA, Your Way Home Montgomery County, and CATCH, Inc, before coming on-board as its Executive Director. Wyatt is committed to building sustainable organizations around innovative  housing models, such as Housing First, while never forgetting to share the powerful stories of those  we are serving.

Jeremy Blades:
Director of Housing Services, CATCH
Jeremy Blades has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and minored in addiction studies. He completed  a dual emphasis master’s degree in counseling;  focusing on school counseling and addictions  counseling. He has over ten years of experience  in working as a counselor with individuals who  have addictions, mental health issues, and  behavioral issues. He had the privilege of working in multiple levels of care, ranging from detoxification services and residential treatment to outpatient care. He has considerable experience building  professional relationships, training staff, educating new professionals, and managing stress related  to working with individuals and families with  addictions/mental health issues. He has over  five years of experience as an adjunct professor at Boise State University to assist in the development of addictions professionals, specifically teaching clinical assessment and case management skills to students with goals of working with individuals with substance use disorders. His extensive training in clinical supervision has led to the development of two outpatient programs. He also has comprehensive training in motivational interviewing, in which he developed skills for working with resistance and building off of individual strengths.
